Customers need to be trained on FiDES (Fixture Design Evaluation System) at a location in Turkey. FiDES is a 3D-CAD program which has been developed by FORD Motor Company and is mainly used for fixture design.

Project Definition
Customers need to be trained on FiDES (Fixture Design Evaluation System) at a location in Turkey. FiDES is a 3D-CAD program which has been developed by FORD Motor Company and is mainly used for fixture design.
Realisation
The 10-days training was provided onsite and in English. The participants have been introduced the system basic principles regarding Ford specific conventions. The structured engineering of fixtures was exercised in FiDES based on geometries of already existing components.
Following fundamentals are imparted in the training:
- Introduction of 3D-modeling in FIDES
- Data exchange (Data I/O) to read existing CAD-parts and to export data into different formats
- Construction of a fixture e.g. by using standard parts
- Creation of drawings and bill of materials
In the second part of the training the conveyed fundamentals have been increased by following topics:
- Definition of weld guns by standard elements
- Import of weld points and definition of weld paths
- Creation of kinematic studies – connection with fixture elements
- System parameters
- Concurrent Engineering with a fixture example
- Definition of locators
RLE‘s Competence
The RLE trainers are high skilled in CAD- and engineering experience, in particular with FiDES within the Ford environment.
